Juraj Sýkora

Juraj Sýkora is the Junior Researcher at SFPA and absolvent of the International Economic Relations at the University of Economics in Bratislava. His research focus is dedicated to security policy, specifically on nuclear disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. He also concentrates on the world economy and mutual relationships of European Union countries.

NATO 2030 PROJECT

The aim of the project is to analyse the conclusions of the reflection group published in the document NATO 2030: United for a New Era and to make recommendations. Results of the project as well as our active participation in ensuring the Alliance's security and defence are communicated continuously.

Central European Energy Conference (CEEC) 2021

The aim of the 15th CEEC conference is to discuss the upcoming changes in energy sector. The consequences of Covid-19 pandemic created an opportunity to speed up necessary changes of energy sector. The conference will discuss the opportunities brought by the Recovery Facility in V4 countries and will pay special attention to emissions reduction in cities, new developments in energy storage, rail sector, and decarbonisation in industry.

In this policy paper "New START Treaty – State, future and implications for the EU and V4", written in cooperation with the Think Visegrad think tank, Juraj Sýkora, a Junior Researcher at SFPA, analyses the current state of nuclear arms control, the New START Treaty, what it contains and who it concerns. The policy paper also analyses the prospects until 2026, when the extension of the Treaty expires.
