Annual Report 2021

The development in 2021 was also significantly affected by the coronavirus pandemic. However, the online or hybrid form of the individual project activities eliminated the negative impacts of the pandemic even more successfully than in the previous year. We got used to working in the online space and arranging virtual meetings.

We successfully implemented the largest event, which is the regular Central European Energy Conference (CEEC), as well as several discussion forums at bilateral level (with the Czech Republic, Germany and Ukraine). We continued to implement long-standing projects in Slovakia and the Central European region (e.g. the Civil Servants Mobility Programme or Think Visegrad), as well as further afield (the National Convention on the EU project in North Macedonia, Albania, Georgia, and a youth project in Gagauzia, Moldova).

After more than two years, we have successfully completed a project dedicated to the paradiplomacy of Slovak regions (with emphasis on the Trnava and Presov VÚCs), and together with our partners we have started the implementation of a project on the management of the Slovak-Ukrainian common border (SIBSU), supported by the EEA Financial Mechanism.
