The project NATO 2030 – Document Analysis and Recommendations for Slovakia focuses on the analysis of the document NATO 2030 – United for a New Era, issued by a reflection group appointed by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in November 2020. Slovak experts analyse the document and subsequently propose several recommendations for the Slovak Republic at the domestic level as well as at the level of Alliance.

The aim of the project is to analyse the conclusions of the reflection group published in the document NATO 2030: United for a New Era and to make recommendations. Results of the project as well as our active participation in ensuring the Alliance’s security and defence are communicated continuously. The project is also an informal follow-up to the Alliance’s “We Are NATO” initiative. The primary target group is the decision-making sphere dealing with issues of security and defence of the Slovak Republic and NATO countries, specific representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic. Other target groups are the expert community in the Slovak Republic, NATO and EU countries, foreign policy think tanks and civic organizations operating in the Slovak Republic / NATO.

Within the project the document NATO 2030 – Analysis of Selected Problems is issued, which contains analyses and recommendations prepared by experts from several areas relevant to the nature of the project. Subsequently, analyses and recommendations are presented at the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic, where the authors have the opportunity to discuss with MoD employees the findings and recommendations for the Slovak Republic. The results of the study are also presented through public event at the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics in Bratislava, where the discussion with students is held.
