Methodology of educating Slovak youth: How to protect students from disinformation regarding foreign policy, EU and NATO?

The publication combines knowledge from various relevant fields and contributes to the comprehensive fight against disinformation in Slovakia.
Miroslava Pisklová

The methodology focuses on working with youth in schools since educating and addressing the issue at a time when students form their opinions and adopt ways of thinking about received information is most conducive to shaping them in the right direction. This involves guiding students toward a vigilant approach to information, its sources, and critical thinking in general.

The methodology is intended to serve as inspiration for schools and their teachers to gain a better overview of selected foreign policy issues crucial for anchoring Slovakia in key international organizations (particularly the EU and NATO) and in the disinformation narratives accompanying these issues in the Slovak information space. Additionally, these topics are combined with information on suitable methods for discussing them with students.

Furthermore, the methodology aims to assist employees of relevant ministries. They will gain new insights for potential inspiration in future activities aimed at youth and high school students as part of the fight against hostile propaganda and disinformation.

The publication is available only in Slovak language.
