Miroslava Pisklová

Miroslava Pisklová holds her MA in International Relations from the Charles University in Prague and a BA in European Studies from the Comenius University in Bratislava. Currently, she continues with her doctoral studies at Charles University, focusing on European defence integration and transatlantic cooperation. She is working at SFPA since September 2021 as an researcher within the European Union research program. Previously, she worked for four years at the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy in Prague and before that, during her studies, for three years in the publishing house of the Slovak weekly .týždeň. She is interested in EU affairs, European security and defence, hybrid threats, transatlantic relations.

The publication combines knowledge from various relevant fields and contributes to the comprehensive fight against disinformation in Slovakia.

The purpose of this publication is to bring information from research aimed not only at the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic but also at the misinformation and conspiracy narratives on the economy of Slovakia from 2020 to 2022 closer to both professional and lay audiences.

European Conference 2024: Are we ready for the EU of 30+?

A yearly European conference in Slovakia each year focuses on different topics, based on what is currently the most relevant within the EU affairs. In 2022, Conference on the Future of Europe was addressed, while in 2023, the focus shifted towards the Russian aggression against Ukraine. In 2024, the issue of further enlargement of the EU will set the agenda, as there is a variety of very topical questions to discuss. The conference will consist of four panel discussions, combining expertise from across Europe.
