Oto Halás is a graduate of the Department of Building Services, Department of Heating at Faculty of Civil Engineering at STU (Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava) and ICIEE (International Center for Indoor Environment and Energy) at DTU (Technical University of Denmark, Kongens Lyngby, Denmark). Throughout his working career, he has been dealing with the utilization of geothermal energy, mainly for the purposes of district heating systems, and has participated in most of the important geothermal projects in Slovakia. Currently, as the director of SLOVGEOTERM a.s., he continues to develop and implement new geothermal projects and as a vice-chairman of Association for Geothermal Energy in Slovakia, he supports further development of geothermal energy utilization.
